On Kurna Asabe Painful Raod Traffic: A free advice to the Kano State government and KAROTA

By  Ibrahim A. Iliyasu

Kurna Asabe is an area located in Dala local government in Kano state, the environs is popularly known for huge populations to which many people describe the area as a China of Kano. The area is faced with serious road traffic and many challenges to which its citizens have been wondering about the existence of government in the area.

The population of the area is regularly increasing day by day. Perhaps, that is why people are saying any government that fail to win out votes during election in the area would likely not succeed.

Sadly, the population of Kurna Asabe in itself can be said is equivalent to one local government or even more in Nigeria. But, the area is left behind in terms of infrastructural development such as good roads, schools, hospitals, portable water, security, electricity and many more. Looking at some major roads and feeder roads in the area one can be shocked whether the government exist in that area.

Nonetheless, every morning when going out for a living and afternoon when coming back home the populace are skeptical on how to pass the painful and tragic road traffic which prolong the journey of an hour to a day. This occurred as a result of poor road, lack of enough space of the road and a single road as a major road that link Kurna to Katsina and Daura.

looking at the dilemma of traffic in kurna, the kano state government made several attempting efforts to reduce the traffic but the traffic remains as it was or even worst. For example, the KNSG under Rabi'u Musa Kwankwaso shutdown the Babbalayi U-Turn hoping that the traffic will reduce and established bridge for pedestrians, still, nothing has changed.

The Ganduje Government shutdown The Mami market U-turn opposite Bukavu Barrack to ease the traffic by establishing remarkable, lengthy and modern Kofar Ruwa Under pass, it has also shifted the Kurna Makaranta U-turn to Tudun Bojuwa. still, the traffic is unable to reduce, rather it increased to the worst. Now as the problem of Kurna traffic seems unsolvable, the government has temporarily shutdown Kurna Masallaci U-turn thinking that things might change.

Analogically, bridges/underpass shutting down of U-turns cannot solve road traffic problem in Kurna.

My free advice to the stakeholders are as follows:

1. Expand the Kurna Main road, if possible create additional roads in the area.

2. Complete the Kings college Road that link kwachiri and Dan Rimi.

3. Complete the Kofar Dawanau road that link titin Jajira.

4. Rehabilitate and Expand Dantata 'yan rake road.

5. Rehabilitate and expand Layin Pole wire road.

6. Complete the building of Titin gidan gona (Gidan gona road that link with Gwarzo road and Ring road).

May this message reach its targets and the staleholders.
