BE PROFESSIONAL IN WHAT YOU ARE DOING- BAUCHI COMMISSIONER OF EDUCATION TELLS ASOF

Bauchi State Commissioner of Education, Hajiya (Dr.) Jamila Dahiru (1st Zinariyan Rahama and Jarumar Wunti) says the secret behind her success is that she is passionate, professional, ready and focused to carry out her job.

During an Interactive Session organized by Arewa Students Orientation Forum (ASOF) today in Bauchi, Hajiya Jamila motived and inspired a group of students through her eloquent narration of her life journey. 

The Session was aimed to bring together student leaders and representatives, including Student Union Government members, State and Local Government Presidents, and individuals invested in education. 

They will be present to hear about your inspirational journey, struggles, and achievements according to ASOF chairman, Bauchi Chapter, Kabiru Dauda.

Hajiya Jamila unveiled that "I am from humble background". She was born in October 19, 1985 at Nabardo. She was raised in Bauchi state. She attended  Jahun 1 primary school, Dutsen Tanshi here in Bauchi. She proceeded to secondary school (where) She started JS 1 to JS 2 at Government Comprehensive Day Secondary School (GSDSS) here in Bauchi. She was later transferred to continue secondary education in Gombe state. She had the privilege of writing  Junior Secondary Certificate Examination (JSCE) at Government Secondary School Pilot, Gombe where she proceeded to Government Girls Science School (GGSS) Doma in Gombe. She wrote her senior secondary school certificate examination, WAEC and NECO (in) 2002. After that she proceeded to Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic here in Bauchi where she did her IJMB. She had the privilege of graduating successfully. She bagged 14.0 which gave her a right hand to be able to have Direct Entry (DE) into the University. She was offered to study Mass Communication at Bayero University, Kano where she graduated (with) second class upper in 2009. After that she had the privilege of serving at Albayan Secondary School in Jos for a while and then have the privilege of also teaching as Secondary school teacher in Ibn Abbas after Al-bayan where she did her national service (N.Y.S.C.). Immediately she was in Kaduna then where she had a privilege of also teaching as a secondary school teacher at Nunu International School. She thought English language and then she was able to continue as the teacher at another school, Maryam College also as an English teacher. She then left the collage for her Postgraduate Diploma in Education at  National Teachers Institute, Kaduna in 2013 

In 2014 she was employed by one school, Saidu Abubakar Memorial School where she served as the college Principal.  So, immediately after that, she proceeded for  Msc. at Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria. And during her Msc, she was offered an employment as graduate assistant immediately after her course work result. Since then, she had been a lecturer with ABU, Zaria in the department of Mass Communication. So this means she has a background for her first and second Degree as Mass Communication and being from that background, she has the privilege of working with different organizations some of which include  Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office as Communication Expert in their various project.  

In 2019, she bagged M.Sc. in Mass Communication at Ahmadu Bello University Zaria where she was serving as lecturer. Also she achieved Doctorate Degree in Education (Honoris Causa) at Commonwealth University College in Benin Republic in 2023.  

Currently, she is doing her Doctorate Degree in Mass Communication in Beyero University Zaria.

On her working career, Hajiya Jamila is privileged to work with many reputable organizations including local, national and international organizations. She achieved a career with her name written with golden quills.

Hajia Jamila motivated youth and charged  them to achieve integrity and professionalism in order to develop their career.

She commended ASOF for their efforts to organize the interactive event and Further urged students to emulate their steps and also promised to support them where necessary.

During the event, an award of honour was presented to her in recognition of her selfless service and the impact on educational development during her first tenure as Commissioner of Education.

Kabiru Dauda, the chairman of the event expressed that "Your insights will serve as a great source of inspiration for us as students. We are enthusiastic about the possibility of you sharing your wisdom, addressing questions, and engaging in meaningful discussions during the session.”
