WHY CAN'T THEY FEEL IT??? I wish I could live to see my kids. I wish i can tell them a story. I wish the title of my first pulished book will be the biography of a man. A man that is one in a million. I call him my leader. He is one of a kind, a true definition of sacrifice for brotherhood. A man whose story will be motivational. A man whose story may earn me my first literary award. A man who "propagandocracy" of the propagandists cause him no harm. A man who Excel in adminitrative excellence. Who am I talking about? My wish is to write on AHMED MININ NAGYA Not only U13 nor MACOSA, not only social science nor ABU but the world of leadership must recognize man of your calibre. I can't say you are rich but you are influential, your out look make them think otherwise. Can I say they are jelous? Or are they wishing to be like you? Who were then showered with blessings, and you also taught them how to know their differences and shun them. But time has come when the difference has been notified and the center can no longer hold. There are now factions, all claiming to be the ones maintaining the survival of the home. The North claiming with their population, vast land for agriculture to feed the nation and some mineral resources, the East with the black goal who also claims the country depends on, and of course the West claiming they have the industries, cocoa and other resources. ALMAJIRI SYSTEM AND THE FALLING OF THE NORTHERN FAMILY By Saeed Kamalu Bako The almajiri system of education as practise today in the northern Nigeria is a completely bastardized system compared to the form and conditions under which the system was operating and its output during the pre colonial period. The system just take another dimension as the result of the British invasion to colonized the northern Nigerian territories and took control of the state treasury. With loss of support from the government and the helpless emirs, the almajiri system thus collapsed like a pile of cards. The responsibility of the Almajiri was then taken over by the local scholars who deemed it a moral and religious duty to educate these pupil for the sake of Allah. Although there was scarsity of funds and over whelming number of pupil to cater for, the system continued to flourish with the support of the immediate community and begging was still not a norm.
