THE PATH TO AN ENDLESS JOURNEY

Image
THE PATH TO AN ENDLESS JOURNEY by SAEED KAMALU BAKO like swarm of bees we flee together, we planned but when it came it was abortive. The journey then began individually but the success became unrecoeded. The struggle continued but amist us was the most harsh atmosphere, that was when we realized it was an endless journey, the path of struggling to infinity. where the centigrate reads to an endless degree, heat from that sahara desert make the inner us almost melt down. And that was the path to success not rightfully taken, which marked the begining of an endless journey. When those many heads turned one, swifly we switch to the shortest but easy way to success and that was the destination (success)

SIGNS FOR A BETTER CHRISTMAS IN PUSHIT

Image
BY SAEED KAMALU BAKO There has been a great sign of a better christmas in pushit district of Mangu LGC Plateau state. This sign is as the result of the smile on the faces of the inhabitants of the area who are mainly agrarians (engaging in maize farming). The last wednesday to christmas has always been a busy day to the people of pushit, who normally comes out with their farm products in mass, this normally caused sells in low price of the product viewing how it saturates the market. But this year's case become so unique and different because the price was ok to the farmers who constitute a greater percent of the population of the area and by extension the entire Mangu local government Area. Maize which by this time normally falls to its lowest was sold from 8000- 11000 naira depending on the quality and tomatoe was also sold upto 1500  to 1200 naira also. This left a smile on the faces of the people as the prepare for the forth coming chrismas. In a move to know how

Indeed calamity befold one family All I saw was our soldiers dying Our children crying All I saw was the hight mortality All I saw was famine at its peak O yes I saw how mothers were separated from we I saw how they rape them O yes it was awful in my eyes How they cry, cry and cry And that period t

RAINY SEASON

Image
By Saeed Kamalu Bako I felt a drop on my head I wonder where it came from I saw people running to hide Could that be rainy season? The brownds turned green Why is my hoe? Where is it? The time has come for me to bend all day The time has come for me to plan for the next season Oh! Yes it is rainy season When you come we smile atimes But sometimes you make us sad See man that just planned his seed and the one that applied fertilizer And see the man living at the North Eastern part of my home when it hots when you come they all smile But see the man who just display his goods in the market and Or that woman cooking outside Or that one whose roof is leaking They all feel sad when they see the sky turned dark But you always come with water which is life Decorate the planet. I wish you can stay, oh I wish is for the whole year.

By Saeed Kamalu Bako Slowly it enters Without knock it picks Unnoticed it selects The love one it picks I saw the mother when she screemed I saw the love ones.gather I saw tears like rain drop Oh myself, oh me It make me think of me That day I saw him breathless Slowly it picked him Without knock it entered Slowly the love one passed away Oh, death pass my way and go far away So I said to myself Without you knowing it comes it quickly pick your love ones So, I prepare and await my turn since it is called the inevitable.

ENJOYMENT

Image
By Saeed Kamalu Bako It is enjoyment of a great order I saw them when he convinced her I saw him when he hold her waist as the went I saw them when they went in there From then they were alone From then they became mute That was the exact time he started touching her O yes I can't even hear their voice Since they both talk in whispers The top of one's lip slowly on top of the other No hesitation, acceptance was the reply Still thinking of how it goes But my mind told me he undressed her Still in the dark All she said was pull me in pull me in Enjoyment at it peak that was what she felt It is true that time flies? In some months time the lady was featured crying She vomits, o yes she did I then questioned the inner me Could this be pregnancy? She is the one chasing the fella now And not the other way round Denying her in public and private become easy I tried to Pity her but it seems my conscience was gone I then reflect back I was there wh

The fight against Almajiri System and the best medium

Image
By Saeed Kamalu Bako The fight against Almajiri system indeed gathered momentum in the 21st century. Hundrets and thousands of article has been written for or against (but mostly for) but the phenomenon still remain, though reduced a little. With the use of online media mostly to address the audience, will the fight succeed?  Who then are the audience? The target audience of those messages remain the "poor" living in rural settlements, because it is a fact that they remain the ones sending their children to such system of education. The rich or urban dwellers hardly do such. Reason, because they have the financial support or perhaps they view the present system unfavourable to obataining Islamic knowledge. With the use of social media mostly, will the message reach the target audience? Indeed, "the medium is the message". Rural dwellers hardly have access to social media and also are mainly illiterates (in Nigeria) who depend mostly on RADIO as the

EDUCATION IN MY HOME: WHAT A MISPLACED PRIORITY

Image
Mine is a home with misplaced priority, A home that minority enjoy at the expenses of majority. Where education is of no concern. Where the selfish law makers decides the faith of the home. But do they still remember that education remain the key? Do they still remember that for every Home to be developed it must attend certain level of education? Lenin named illiteracy as enemy number one but in my home it appears to be at the button of the ladder. Education in my home has already got negative connotation by those who will promote it. This resulted in the poor becoming poorer and the rich becoming more richer by the day. It has already been hegemonically planned that for you to attain certain level you must have certain qualification, but as a poor citizen, how can you gain the required certificate?? You don't have the financial support to study in private nursery or primary school nor secondary, talkless of tertiary institution or perhaps moving abroa

DO YOU KNOW OF SUNSHINE JOURNALISM ??

Saeed Kamalu bako Many Nigerian government that came and gone constantly accused the media of being unpatriotic. Saying they focus more on the negative reports about the country, thus feeding the international media with negative connotation on the country and the possible angle to depict Nigeria negatively. Sunshine journalism is when media portrayals of a society is always in good aspect (positively), optimistic, etc. This make the media to go with the hide of those with discretionary spending power. This also make the role of the media of being the defender and upholder of public interest be relegated to the background and  capitalist takes over which will make the media supportive to only it's market and shareholders. Mondli Makhanya, SANEF chairman, said African media need to tell African stories with a great quality but in free environment " A free media is good for your brand and it's future and development" he said. Most of the people are of the opin

MY FINAL SEMESTER,THE BEGINNING AND THE END OF MY CAREER.

Image
Saeed Kamalu Bako. It was around 5pm, the sun was almost going down and Kamal was sitting in his room off campus. Kamal since his 100 level always lived off campus with the justification that people in the hostel were not good to live with and he is a type that talk less. Thinking about his preparation of graduating now that it is the final semester, Thinking about how all his friends wanted him to mingle with them socially and how he resisted and Maryam has always been on his neck on asking him about going to a party together but the response was always negative, so many girls also have tried on several occasions but haven't succeeded. Kamal planned his life on the path of school before relationship, to the extend that he has no girlfriend and just stick to his books. Just at the moment he was thinking, another thought came over "why will I finish, knowing only one way, why won't I try the other just for this short period of time? After all, I am graduating th

Image
WHY CAN'T THEY FEEL IT??? I wish I could live to see my kids. I wish i can tell them a story. I wish the title of my first pulished book will be the biography of a man. A man that is one in a million. I call him my leader. He is one of a kind, a true definition of sacrifice for brotherhood. A man whose story will be motivational. A man whose story may earn me my first literary award. A man who "propagandocracy" of the propagandists cause him no harm. A man who Excel in adminitrative excellence. Who am I talking about? My wish is to write on AHMED MININ NAGYA Not only U13 nor MACOSA, not only social science nor ABU but the world of leadership must recognize man of your calibre. Let them know that time will come when boys will be men, let them know that they must strive harder to follow the foot print.

DEAR OUR MOTHER (NIGERIA)

Image
DEAR OUR MOTHER ( NIGERIA ) Saeed Kamalu Bako Your effort of making us one is nearly been jeopardized. You gave birth to so many households, 3 of which are the giants; the North, the West and the East. Who were then showered with blessings, and you also taught them how to know their differences and shun them. But time has come when the difference has been notified and the center can no longer hold. There are now factions, all claiming to be the ones maintaining the survival of the home. The North claiming with their population, vast land for agriculture to feed the nation and some mineral resources, the East with the black goal who also claims the country depends on, and of course the West claiming they have the industries, cocoa and other resources. The Middle Belt trying to create a faction from the north. Could that be because the majority of the Northern population are Muslims? If there will be a division, where will they be? The West, East or stand on t

ALMAJIRI SYSTEM AND THE FALLING OF THE NORTHERN FAMILY

Image
ALMAJIRI SYSTEM AND THE FALLING OF THE NORTHERN FAMILY By Saeed Kamalu Bako The almajiri system of education as practise today in the northern Nigeria is a completely bastardized system compared to the form and conditions under which the system was operating and its output during the pre colonial period. The system just take another dimension as the result of the British invasion to colonized the northern Nigerian territories and took control of the state treasury. With loss of support from the government and the helpless emirs, the almajiri system thus collapsed like a pile of cards. The responsibility of the Almajiri was then taken over by the local scholars who deemed it a moral and religious duty to educate these pupil for the sake of Allah. Although there was scarsity of funds and over whelming number of pupil to cater for, the system continued to flourish with the support of the immediate community and begging was still not a norm. Instead, they restor

When will i marry?

Saeed Kamal Bako WHEN WILL I MARRY? Saeed kamalu Bako Where am I going? Time is quite fast and I am becoming older by the day. Religion and tradition have inclined their dictates on me. I am now 20+ but still flirting with them, knowing that they are "Yan amore". When will I fulfil the obligation designed on me by both religion and culture. Who will then propose, since I have eliminate focus? But the question that remain vague is *when am I gona to settle down?* My dream seems uncertain. Having a handsome and God fearing husband, living in a good and mighty mansion, surrounded by little adorable kids, living a happier and worth siting example life... But can't I see that I am now turning to sugar Mummy? What of my dream of loving to be called with all the "honey like" names? At last, I preached to myself, and the last was to be good. Let me have him, let the love of my life come to me before it becomes too late. Let me be myself, so

THE LIFE CIRCLE OF AN ACADEMIC DONKEY (AD)

Image
THE LIFE CIRCLE OF AN ACADEMIC DONKEY (AD) Saeed Kamalu Bako  The journey begun with a happier humour and  sensation when he received a text or perhaps visited the school's website and acknowledged congratulatory message confirming his admission. Earlier in the class was competition, and everyone was struggling to reach the higher lid of the class. viewing himself as a champion from where he was, but after a semester or two , the reality was revealed, while he  witness all those at the higher end lowered down and even  the average. Luckily, he was among the toping ones, No one cares  knowing him back then, but vigorously now folks (females) sorrounds him just like swamp of bees. And here is exactly where his calculations got missed up, where the right path was unconsciously dropped, this was where a new pseudo name decended, when he gained the adhoc popularity, this was the same time he shunned the right ones and went on with the pests. However, it is an established

Crime on campus: what does the future holds for our youth? By Saeed Kamalu Bako

Crime on campus: what does the future holds for our youth? By Saeed Kamalu Bako Nowadays youth in Our society lives on the believe that the best way to financial enrichment is not through hard work or personal endeavor in business or through landmark discovery in science and technology. Every one wants to have a slice of the national cake legally or illegally, we see wealth as the key that opens all doors, regardless of how people obtain that key. The irrefutable fact that crime is on the increase in the Nigerian university campuses is not new, the increase in criminal act in our campuses prevalent in our society today is a symptom of a much more serious, deeply rooted problem. This is seen in the way that some students tries by all means to enter into university not to achieve academic excellence rather to enrol in cults and other criminal groups that are designed to terrorize and deprive people of their money and properties. Universities have therefore lost the value for which

MY LIFE (kamal) As the sun rises so the journey of my life began...starting it with happiness, moving from one angle to the other...learning from one lesson to another....moving with my precious gift of nature(my mother).  The one that I can't afford missing. As time went on, the happiness appreciate, gradually I was moving through and romancing what my journey encompasses.the happiness, joy and excitement began to fade, as I realized that I need additional precious thing(a life partner) to make them two. Working along the path of searching, my journey continuous, and this is the journey that I know my destination but doesn't know when it will end. As the sun moves toward the middle it then became very hot....having no shelter ,I felt depressed and desperately in need. Before I realized , all I can hear is the melody that pleases the soul and gave me pleasing relief.  I was discourage with the journey but now I feel fully prepared. As happiness wi

The sky is wide enough to hold all the birds on earth , so is the sea to hold all the fishes ..... my brain has been networked to process all that comes into it.... My dreams are clear enough to become true , My wishes are fast becoming reality .... life is nothing but planing for your death ....there are two things you must know in life and these are life and death and they are always interrelated you must live before you die and you must die when you live. You can plan for your death while you are alive but you can't plan for your life when you are dead. So be wise , is now that you have the chance to plan for both your life and death.... So be wise, is now that you can pilot the plane of your life by yourself. So be wise, don't be deceive by those flashy cars, those handsome boys, those beautiful

THE OFFICIAL NIQABITE

Image
THE OFFICIAL NIQABITE Saeed kamalu Bako Talking about the lady covered in black. The one whose veil covered her from head to toe. The only viewing spot left is the eye balls which rolls like a white ball in black basket. If you are favoured to hear her voice, your mind will be captured and you will seem lost. The only way you can identify her is when she walks. Or perhaps when she speaks in that low velvet voice that will make you melt. The one who will be called Ninja and still smile. Walking majestically in her Lord's blessings, she is truly a queen in her own kingdom. Still talking about the lady in black. The one who fears Allah. Preserving her beauty to the love of her life. Talking about the official Niqabite. The dream of any responsible man. Not the one whose Niqab goes in vain. Can you recall the girl who covered her body at home  just to please her parents? The one who unveil her body and wander the walkway at night or in the dark. The

A SISTER OR MY LOVE?

Image
A SISTER OR MY LOVE? By  Saeed Kamalu Bako A SISTER OR MY LOVE! Not knowing where I came from, I broke the shackle of life. All I can recall was when he told me that "am your dad" and he gave me the address. Before I open my eyes , I was left alone on the rugged street.  Through pains and aggression I furiously grow to be a man.  Romancing the street with people of my kind from child hood up to maturity. Not knowing what was love, where was Home, who were relatives, what was education and why I was  living. All I knew was that I was living for a purpose. There came a day, when I saw her, her name was salma,  walking gently under the overhead bridge ( where I call my home). She is beautiful but yet dirty, uneducated but yet have determination , everything about her was just like me..... then I said here I find whom  I deserved , Hmmm!     Not knowing  how the thing goes, I then approached her like a commander of a battalion " hey miss I thin

evolution from web 1.0 to web 2.0

Difference Between Web 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, and 4.0 Systems   PRIMETECH SOFTWARE For  the last few years the phrase 2.0 has been a technological buzzword. This article discussing the future of the Web, and the roadmap for Web 3.0 and beyond. What is the difference between Web 1.0, Web 2.0, Web 3.0, and Web 4.0? Although the lines between them are blurred, here is my take on the differences. Web 1.0 When the Internet gained momentum, one of the primary benefits was the ability of people and organizations to share information. As the Web grew, tools were developed to help people using the Web find information with ease and accuracy. Tools and technology were developed to facilitate searching, and utilizing the Web in mainstream, everyday fashion. People figured out how to help people use the Web to serve customers, play games, advertise products and services, and share just about every type of information. Some of the technologies developed during this stage o

CAN I CALL IT A PSEUDO CULTURE? Our tradition is now left in the hands of a generation that see it swinging like a pendulum, finding it very hard to situate itself within one culture because the door has been open to welcome so many cultures. It has reach to the extend that even dressing in our cultural attire is newsworthy, that is even if majority of us know it. Children are no more expose to story telling which will shape their historical intellectuality and make them heroes in their cultural preservation. Can we call this civilization, modernization, westernization or bastardization of culture? We leave foriegn and imperialists ideology to over powered and dominate our socio cultural meleu. This is what is happening now, who can forecast what will happen even in the nearest future!.our culture should be our integrity not the other way round. It is right to say that we are now in the era of electronic colonialism where our definition of reality lies on our screens, we

Democracy Day

Democracy day Democracy day, the day to celebrate our freedom. But are we truly free? This is a question that needs to be answered by you and I. Nigeria no doubt since independent have been experiencing a draconian military administrations up 1999 when real democracy was embraced. Even though there was a period in time that Nigeria taste democracy which did not lasted for long(1979-83). But 29 may every years is the day that every Nigerian president gets into office, that makes the day worthy of been celebrated. With so many Nigerians from different cultural background celebrating in different ways....it is a celebration of liberty. But how far have we gone!!!
As we break our fast today, may Allah accept it as an act of Ibadah. May He forgive our shortcomings, shower His blessings upon us and increase our Imaan. Ameen...

children's day:the celebration of our future leaders

CHILDREN'S DAY: the celebration of our future leaders By Saeed Kamalu Bako On 26th may, 2016 It is globally known that children are the future of every society. And they will only be such if given a solid foundation on which a better society can be achieve. The development of a nation therefore can be gauged by the importance that nation place on it's children. We can therefore say that children are something that no society can function without. As a result of the importance assigned to those individuals comes a day reserved for them. Children's day is recognized as a day in many places around the world to honor children. Globally, it was first proclaimed by the world conference for well being of children in 1954 to protect children working long hours in dangerous circumstance and create access to all children to education. The UN general assembly recommended that all countries of the world should establish a universal children's day on an
